Cake Shack's Gay Rainbow Cake

Tired of having to see all those yummy rainbow cakes on Tumblr? And I bet you're saying that: "I wonder where they get these wonderful looking cakes?" Well Cake Shack has the perfect fix for that! We all have that trauma that if a cake looks too good it tends to taste bad but make an exemption for this one because not only do they look appetizing but they taste heavenly as well. The light whipped cream icing on the outside goes extremely well with the lemon cream cheese butter cream on the inside. Now that's something you don't get to eat everyday!

The cream cheese just made everything taste heavenly. <3

Lazy Summer

I have been so lazy lately but all I did this summer break was to EAT. I have been thriving on cold desserts and beverages and may I just say that ice + mango is just the best! Follow me on Instagram: katdebustos

Cupcakes by Sonja

Since we do not have DC Cupcakes here, I have found my own local version of a cupcake escape found in 1 C03 Serendra, Fort Bonifacio Global City Taguig, Metro Manila.

Mochi Poochi Ice Cream

My aunt ordered these online for a bargain! Originally a piece costs about P80. Mochi is Japanese sticky rice that is wrap the ice cream into a ball. These are freezed to perfection in order to maintain the shape. You must let the piece warm a little bit before biting into them for it may cause some serious sensitivity to your teeth. It comes in many unique flavors like Avocado (my favorite). Cheese, Red Beans (specialty), Bubble Gum (for the kiddos), etc. These babies can be redeemed in Metrowalk and if you're around the Libis area, the daily food fair inside the Eastwood Mall also offers a variety of these handheld desserts.

Homemade Wicked Oreos

What you will need:

Pancake mix (I prefer to use Maya Pancake mix, not the instant one step mix)
Oreos (Double stuffed Oreos to double the fun!)
Ice cream (Vanilla makes a good combination)
Any condiments of your choice (sprinkles, mini mallows, choco chips, etc.)

Procedure:

  1. Boil cooking oil in a pan deep enough for deep frying the cookies.
  2. Prepare the pancake mix.
  3. Test if the oil is hot enough by dropping a few drops of batter into the oil. it must not be too hot for the cookies may get burnt. If the mixture floats then the oil is hot enough.
  4. Dip the cookies one at a time on both sides, do not leave them in the batter for this may cause the cookies to be too heavy for frying.
  5. Carefully put the dipped cookies into the pan, wait for it to float then turn using cooking tongs. Repeat this until both sides are golden brown.
  6. Place freshly cooked wicked oreos in a strainer to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve in a platter with a scoop of ice cream on top, decorate with condiments and enjoy!
